What is a text?

         A text is a collection of coherent, easily understandable paragraphs, which are logically related.

What does a well constructed text look like?  

Now go back to the paragraph you wrote with your personal data, interests , hobbies etc.. . Write a new paragraph describing an episode of your childhood, that you remember well.

EXAMPLE

             My name is Donatella Barp. I was born in Feltre, 50 km from Belluno near the Alps. I moved to Carpi in 1987 and I have been living here since then. I have two little daughters, Sara is 4 years old and Barbara is nearly two years old. I teach English at "Leonardo da Vinci" technical school and enjoy the experience. In my spare time I like travelling, swimming, reading and cooking for friends. I am outgoing, reliable and hard-working.

          As a child I used to visit my grandparents very often. I liked being with them as they were always very nice with me. My grandmother used to cook all my favourite foods while my grandfather entertained me with stories of his years in America and in France. They had a little farm with cows, pigs and poultry. One day while I was picking up flowers near the house, I was violently pushed from the back so that I nearly fell to the ground. When I turned I saw a big cock, which was attacking me.I began screeming so loudly that my granny rushed out of the house to see what was happening.
